Following the cry by many art groups and filmmakers in Zambia to have the deadline extented, the National Arts Council Chairman Mr. Patrick Samwaimbila has announced the extension of the deadline to Friday, 18th September, 2020.
In his speech, Mr Samwaimbila expressed disappointment on the low number of applications from the Copperbelt Province which is the biggest art hub in Zambia.
A total of 916 applications were received at close of business 14th September, 2020. These are the numbers received from provinces:
Lusaka – 254
Copperbelt – 34
Muchinga – 14
Southern – 89
Western – 102
Northern – 31
Eastern – 57
Central – 39
Luapula – 74
Furthermore, the Council has announced that by 30th September 2020, money will be given to the Successful applicants.
